Do you know that for some children going to school is actually a luxury? Did you know that some children actually want to go to school and make sacrifices to do so? This is the story of many children from the suburbs of Cluj-Napoca.

These children manage to stay in school with the help of our Scholarship Program.  This program offers financial support such as: school books, pens, school uniform, sport equipment, clothes, shoes, transportation costs coverage, food, leisure time activities and financial support in other specific needs. The children served by Christiana come from very poor families.

Can you imagine

• A family of five living a decent life with 200 euro per month?
• Sharing one bedroom with your whole family, all five of them?
• Commuting/hitchhiking for 4 hours every day to go to school?

These children live this kind of life. They do not have to imagine it. Every day is a challenge for them. Considering all these impediments finishing the school year is a great achievement.

Christiana believes in these children, believes that circumstances do not define them and that they should be given a fair chance in life. It all starts with education. Education is a stepping-stone towards living a decent life, towards becoming a fulfilled adult.
